Dear All,

Now that our semesters are complete, Larry and I are busy finalizing the details of the bean beetle workshop. Over the next several days, you will be receiving a series of about 5 different emails with additional information about the workshop or tasks that need to be completed before arriving on June 2.

We will begin with a dessert reception in room 231 of the 1462 Clifton Rd. Bldg. at 8pm on June 2. For those staying on campus, either Larry or I will meet you outside of the residence hall at 7:45pm to accompany you to the room. For local participants, you can park in the Michael St. parking deck and walk to the room. The housing information from conference services, workshop schedule, and a campus map are attached and will be posted to the workshop discussion board.

Below is a recap of travel information. Based on comments from last year's participants, if you are staying on campus, please remember to bring soap and shampoo. Also, if you prefer a large, luxurious bath towel, you are better off bringing your own. There is wireless internet access available in the on-campus housing. However, last year, the participants found that the internet connectivity was better with an ethernet cable. You do NOT need to bring a computer with you, as you will have access to computers during our working sessions, but you are more than welcome to bring one along.

Once arriving at the Atlanta airport, you can either take an airport shuttle (about $35 on Atlanta Superior Shuttle) or taxi (approximately $40) from the airport to Emory. If you are arriving with your partner, taking a taxi will be cheaper. Taxis do take credit cards, but you need to tell them in advance at the airport. You will be staying in the Sorority Complex on Eagle Row, on Emory's main campus. However, you need to check in with Conference Services at Alabama Hall (1615 Pierce Drive, NE) first. If you have trouble finding Conference Services, just call them at 404-727-0427. Directions to residence halls and maps of campus can be found here.

Save your receipts and we will reimburse you for your ground transportation.
